England Stars and Their Phones!

Professional footballers always seem to have the latest and greatest when it comes to mobile phones and tablets, but that’s hardly surprising when you consider that players like Wayne Rooney are paid £300,000 per week. As jealous as we are about the fact that they earn more in a day than we do in a month, we do appreciate the fact that they take the time to ensure that their gadgets are the finest around.

With the World Cup now in full swing, we thought that it would be fun to see what devices the England players use on a daily basis – who knows, we might even be on par with them in that area!

Steven Gerrard

Who better to start with than Captain Fantastic himself? Steven Gerrard has been the England captain for a couple of years now and had been the vice captain for quite some time prior to that too. Add all that to his 11 years as Liverpool captain and you have an awful lot of leadership experience. But does he also lead his team mates when it comes to gadgets?

Well, he’s certainly holding his own! Stevie G’ currently appears to be using an iPhone 5S, which is more than respectable. The sleek, no nonsense design and user interface also seems fitting for Gerrard, who is a no nonsense, direct player on the field too. Still, we’re pretty sure he’s probably playing Candy Crush in this picture.

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney has been England’s talisman for the last decade and during the run up to every major tournament, there is always something going on with the man. Sometimes it’s injuries, sometimes it’s off-the-field antics. Television pundits have been quick to point out that the Manchester United ace has never scored in a World Cup and have been arguing amongst themselves constantly throughout the tournament so far as to where he should play.

At Bozowi, we feel he’s best suited just behind a donkey, with a princess on the left and a gingerbread man on the right. But that’s just our opinion.

Disclaimer: Just like Wayne Rooney’s hairline, this has been completely fabricated.

Frank Lampard

There are many names that have circulated for Frank Lampard over the last few years, many of which aren’t too flattering. However, nobody can question his ability as a footballer, especially since he is now the top scoring midfielder in Premier League history. The Chelsea hitman has now scored a staggering 171 goals. To put that into perspective for you, that’s 21 more than Michael Owen who was on course to break England's all time goalscorer record that was set by Sir Bobby Charlton.

Just like his midfield partner and international captain, Frank Lampard uses an iPhone 5S. Once again, this just sort of suits him. Sleek and understated but extremely effective.

Joe Hart

England’s #1 has come in for a lot of stick recently after being dropped towards the start of last season by the new Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini. In addition to that, he was also widely mocked because of his Head & Shoulders shampoo commercial, which has been running on national television for almost a year now. Nonetheless, he is England’s #1 and still commands the respect of his defence and opposition as one of the world’s greatest keepers.

Naturally, with such status comes an impressive array of gadgets. In addition to his mobile xbox 360, which was custom built for him prior to the last World Cup, Hart also has a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. That probably has something to do with the fact that it’s the only phone on the market that’s big enough to accommodate those giant paws of his!

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge has finally had his first, full breakthrough season. It seems like an eternity since we first started hearing about him and all the potential he had during his Manchester City days. There were times when we thought that he may not reach the heights that everyone thought he would but nonetheless, he got there in the end and boy has he done it at the right time! Sturridge bagged 21 goals last season and was only beaten to the golden boot by his Liverpool strike partner, Luis Suarez. He didn’t have a bad start to the world cup either, bagging England’s only goal in their 2-1 opening defeat to Italy.

Sturridge is currently using a Samsung Galaxy S3 from what we understand. It’s a great phone and does exactly what’s needed from it. With that being said, we had him down as more of a RIM Blackberry kinda guy – bringing a touch of class and sophistication to proceedings.
