About Asus

Asus are a relatively young company, with their history only stretching back as far as 1989. The company was founded by T.H. Tung, Ted Hsu, Wayne Hsieh and M.T. Liao. While they have been known to create and sell some extremely successful personal computers, laptops, tablets and other standalone devices, the company is perhaps most successful in the manufacturing sector. It is particularly well regarded in the graphics card industry, where it is able to improve on the hardware produced by companies like Nvidia and ATI to deliver something that genuinely improves the users experience during gaming.

However, it’s that same experience within these sort of markets that provides purchasers of their complete units, such as laptops or desktops, with great peace of mind. It’s hardly rocket science; if a company can make great hardware, they can more than likely make great systems. As a general rule, that’s pretty much the case with Asus all over.

As with Acer, another company from Taiwan, they tend to do better in the low to mid’ price-range. This is primarily because they get a lot of repeat custom in a relatively brief period of time as customers look to update their systems within 12-18 months of purchasing their previous one.

With more than 21,000 employees and $565m in profit, from $14.73bn in revenue, Asus are a mainstay within the top five personal computer companies in the world.
